Garnier Fructis: Not what I'm looking for.

I got a free full size sample of all three of those new Garnier Fructis Hyrda products. Ooh, they smell nice. Ooh, they feel nice in the shower. Ooh, it sparkles! (according to Alice, the "microbeads" look like sparkles). Ew, after 2 days I feel disgusting. Yes, it is designed to help your hair retain moisture which is something I desperately need, but being a stay at home mom of 3 little kids I don't get a shower every day like I should. Maybe if I'm not able to shower every day then that means I don't qualify for having non-breaking hair? I don't know. I just don't think it's for me. Sorry, Garnier. gotitfree# buzzagent#

Day of AWESOMENESS 2013

Sunday was the 2013 Day of Awesomeness and we tried a few things and it turned out to be a pretty awesome day.

First up: Quaker oatmeal. Ok, Ok, I know you're thinking "Oatmeal, YUCK! What the hell, Jessie?" But no! Oatmeal is really awesome. When we make it for the whole family G uses the Old Fashioned oats and Damn, Mary, they are tasty. We dump in some real maple syrup and then either some cinnamon or brown sugar and Mm, mm, mmmmmmm.... We also enjoy the instant oatmeal which they have started making not only in the individual packets but in a larger bag where you can get whatever size serving (including 1/2 servings) you need. But I digress! G made us Oatmeal to start our Day of Awesomeness and it was pretty great.

Then we went to church because Jesus is pretty awesome, right? (OK, obligatory, but whatever). Church snacks, you guessed it, Quaker Chewy granola bars. They've also introduced quite a few variations on the Chewy bar lately. They have Yogurt Dipped bars, and Chocolate or Peanut Butter "Dipps" bars, and now they are even making the regular Chewy bars in a BIG size that's 60% bigger than the original ones! Yes, I am a Quaker Oats fan, and not only because I'm involved in the BzzAgent campaign for them right now, though that might be why I keep talking about how awesome they were on the Day of Awesomeness.

OK, on with the Day of Awesome... We went to my in-laws which was pretty not awesome but the kids wanted to so we did. We watched a Scooby Doo movie which was so horrendous it was awesome, which is how good ole SD always is, right?

And then we came home and hung out for a while which I always enjoy because my kids are AWESOME. After just being together G decided we needed to celebrate the day with a movie. He suggested Star Wars but no, that might have ruined the greatness of the day for me so we watched Marvel's Avengers instead. Yay! Avengers! AND while we were watching it we ate chips and queso. No the healthiest dinner but healthy is so very rarely awesome I figured we could just forego that for the day. And you know what I thought was awesome? My 3 year old asking for "chips and queso?" in her perfect little tiny voice that doesn't mess anything up. Ooh, she's so great.

So there you have it, an awesome day.

MOH fail

February was a horrible month for the Odd Holidays for me. I already have more celebrated in March than I did the entire month of February! I want to start making a record of our Odd adventures on here but we'll see what happens. Ooh, Sunday is the Day of Awesomeness and Mario day. I bet we can combine those to make something special...

Brownies, Noodle Ring, Ice Cream!

The best holidays all together! Saturday was Brownie Day, which we celebrated Sunday night with the Evil Microwave Brownie in a Cup.

Then it was NOODLE RING DAY! I love noodle rings! Thank you Odd Holidays for introducing me to the Noodle Ring! We did it a day late, but it was just as good. Mmmmm... Noodle ring.... Creamed chicken...

And then today was Ice Cream Day so we celebrated with more Evil Microwave Brownie in a Cup sundaes. The kids even got ice cream after dinner, aren't I nice?

Letter Writing Day

Today was Letter Writing Day so guess what? I actually wrote a letter to my penpal! The last letter I got was  I think 2 months ago? I'm horrible. We've been writing for I think... 5 years? I don't know. We met on Post Secret and I love her.I was also going to have the kids celebrate by "writing letters" to their grandmas or by working on some alphabet letter writing but alas, we made more ninjas instead.

Tomorrow is Brownie Day, Take It in the Ear Day, and Day of the Horse. I don't know what we'll be celebrating or how yet.

Odd Holidays - Cookie Day and Ninja Day!

Yesterday was Ninja Day and the day before was Cookie Day. We combine the 2 and made Ninja Bread Cookies! The first batch burnt so we tried it again with the other half of the dough and Yay! Ninjas!
